Last week, my little girl turned two and we had a little celebration at home and school. I’m always sentimental about her birthday. She is my first, the one who made me a mama… A first time mama. I know that miracle is actually real whenever I look at her eyes. I’m happy that she is my daughter, I love her with all my beings.
So, happy birthday, Abigail! Realising that you’re not going to be my little baby forever is kind of sad to me. However, I’m so happy to see you grow happy and healthy. It melts my mama’s heart to see you explore and discover things. You are a good girl with such joy and spirit! I’m just so proud of you. I hope that as you grow, you’ll love life and find that this life is actually full of wondrous. May God always be with you. Mama and papa love you so much!
Yay! Abigail just turned one today. Time has really gone so quickly. A little bit bittersweet to me, but seeing her grow bigger and smarter each day really make me proud as a mama (well, all mamas should be proud of their kiddos!). She now may not understand what birthday is, but my husband and I really want to make her feel special today, not by giving her luxury gift but simply setting birthday mood at home. So I tried my best on a little DIY birthday decor for this special day of hers. We decorated one corner in our house in birthday mood. And… mission accomplihed! She’s happy today, I know it. That look when she woke up to this birthday table corner was really precious. She smiled, looked surprise and happy (and tried to touch every possible thing on that table). This mama is also happy. We also decided that there won’t be any big celebration this year because my baby girl doesn’t really like to be the centre of attention just yet. We just don’t want her to feel tortured on her first birthday.
Dear Abigail, Happy 1st Birthday! Every time I think of it, I feel so lucky to be called your mama, so does papa. You’re such a pure joy to our little family. May you grow happier, smarter and healthier. And as you learn everyday, may you become a girl with good values and positive spirit. Thank you for making mama and papa’s days, every day. God bless you, my dear daughter. Cheers to many many birthdays to come.
A few weeks ago we went to Singapore for a quick getaway. It was our first holiday with Abigail and facts revealed that she was a very good little traveller. No fuss, no hassle and she was all happy. However, travelling with a baby also means that we have to adjust our pace and make a few stops to sit and give her food, snacks, and to breastfeed her. Also, visits to kids attractions were on our itinerary because we wanted her to enjoy this holiday. We wanted her to find that this world we’re living is full of wondrous and beautiful things. We had some family dates to bookstore, cafes, vintage stores, and ikea. We also really enjoyed our time strolling around the neighbourhood and observed how the local lives. It goes without saying that holiday is a very special time to bond with the whole family, to escape a while from our mundane day-to-day routine. Ah, I’m now craving for more and more holidays. Anyway, I hope you had a good time, too! x
Happy birthday, Husband! I love you so much and more!
